Housed in the building which was originally known as Chaney’s Seafood since the 1940’s, The Crooked I Sports Bar & Grill was founded by Chris Chubb & Rick Crump in 2005. Located in the quaint hamlet of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, we are considered a local’s hang-out but welcoming to all newcomers. Since becoming the Crooked I Sports Bar & Grill, we have added nine flat screen TV’s, loaded with all major sporting events. In addition, we have adopted a menu created by our executive Chef and acquired a commercial bingo license in order to provide exciting bingo based games for cash prizes. We have already given away thousands in cash and prizes, including a trip for two to the Playboy Mansion!

In the summer of 2008, Chris Russell, Ryan Hill and Scott Nash joined the ownership team and their investment has helped continue the upgrades and improvements started by Chris and Rick. Our Bayside Tiki Bar is open during late Spring through early Fall. We are frequently asked, "Why did you name it Crooked I?" We’ll tell you…. When Chris & Rick were trying to come up with a name, they found out that the town would not permit them to change the physical shape of the existing Chaney’s sign. While staring at the sign they decided it looked like a crooked letter i and the name stuck! With fans and regulars who travel from as far as Alexandria, Virginia, Bethesda and Baltimore, Maryland we think they came up with a name to be remembered.
